Matt wasn't a Genesis kid, but even Hunter knew very little about this game. Well guess what: it's incredible and I love it and I want everyone to try it and fall in love with piloting this zippy little ship. This is a game about navigation, movement, resource management, and action! It's got EVERYTHING. And sure it's hard...but it's FAIR and that's all that matters. I cannot explain why this game works for me, okay? It just does.

The people behind Sonic Mania surprise released their new game last week. We've had Sonic fresh on the mind lately, so this couldn't be better for us. Hunter, EJ, and Matt binged the game so that we couldn't finally feel like real video game journalists and be one of the first people talking about this incredible new 3D Platformer. We're too excited for Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth. But more importantly, we haven't been sure what to do when the game comes out because it might be a large amount of time before we've all played the game to completion and we don't want to keep you all waiting! Thankfully, SquareEnix put out a demo of the game and we can talk about some first impressions! Hunter and Sun have already played it and have a lot to say, as well as general speculation about the "Switch 2."

Full spoilers for the entire game this week as Hunter and Sun sit down for a conversation about how much they love this controversial 2020 title remastered for the Playstation 5. Haters beware! Discussion of the original game will follow shortly as a patron only bonus episode. This episode had some audio problems that we had to make peace with so think of it as a simulation of the way this game makes you feel which is pretty rough. Also the first half hour is mostly us talking about last week's State of Play event so check that out if you don't like this game!
