CARS. We're big gear heads over here, just like our dads and their dad's before them. Love them cars. Or at least I love it when I have near infinite cars available to me via Wheel of Fortune style prizes and when driving those cars around recklessly awards me a limitless amount of points. Car games rule and this is an especially good one. I just wish it was more like a dad that wanted me to learn about cars.

Video games are finally cool. We now live in a time where everyone knows graffiti is art, but in 2000, society was still up in the air. The jury is still out on whether roller blading is cool, but I contend that this is just another way Jet Set Radio is well ahead of the curve. This game is cool, cops are rubes, and SEGA is the best video game company. No further questions.

The beloved franchise crashes hard. This is a game we were not excited to play, and it continued to disappoint. We're racing to the bottom with 1998's Dreamcast classic Sonic Adventure. Horrible animations, clunky level design, and mind blowing and spectacular music. This one wants to fly high...

Today we take a stab at another 2021 release, Daniel Mullins' Inscryption. It received a lot of praise this year, but it's also quite hard to look up much about this game because it's twist and turns are so integral to the experience. So go play it! You don't need us. But we're gonna flap our mouths for about an hour about this game anyways. Enjoy?

Sega was doing just fine as a company, but a bunch of executives met in a board room one day and said "Gimme one of them Marios." The mascot race was on, and their answer was...a blue hedgehog that runs very fast. It's hard to understand how anything gets made, but this is definitely up there on the list. This is, hopefully, the conclusion of the running joke about Matt really really really liking Hyper Light Drifter. Solar Ash is the follow-up from developer Heart Machine, and while it shares a lot of the same colors, so much of the game is very different. It's a mixed bag of style and tone and it's time to decide if Matt has a new second favorite game.

We here in the new year and we have a reignited resentment for this list and how to play this game. That's because we're tasked with ranking Final Fantasy 7 and we cannot imagine a more undesirable job. This game has been talked about to death and is regarded by many as one of the best games of all time...but Matt doesn't understand JRPGs because he's a basically a wet noodle. Will we ever be forgiven for this?
